Plan your stay
Augusta MO has some great dining options that you won’t want to miss. Start your day with a delicious breakfast at one of the many options in Augusta. For lunch or dinner, check out Root Food, a farm-to-table restaurant serving up creative and delicious dishes made from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Another must-visit spot is The 514 Takes Flight, a unique dining experience in a historic airplane hangar. Here, you can enjoy classic American fare like burgers, sandwiches, and salads, as well as craft cocktails and beer. And of course, no trip to Augusta would be complete without a visit to one of the many nearby wineries, where you can enjoy locally-produced wines and stunning views of the Missouri countryside.
The Bed and Breakfast is in the initial planning stages of offering cooking classes. Please check out website often and stay tuned for announcements of upcoming classes. We think these classes will be an excellent accompaniment to the HS Clay House experience.
In addition to the Augusta restaurants, another dining option is to have dinner prepared at the Bed and Breakfast. Enjoy a dinner in the historic B&B, served on fine china and prepared by a local chef.
The process for having dinner at the B&B is as follows:
- Contact the B&B for menu options
- Agree upon a menu
- Dinner will be served at an agreed upon time
Previous menus include steak and lobster, risotto, barbecued ribs, a seafood boil, and roasted chicken and vegetables. Prices vary depending on menu selection.
Also, if you would like a lunch or snack waiting for you when you arrive, you may be interested in a take and go selection. Please call the B&B for details.
Picnic baskets are also available. Some local wineries still allow picnic baskets to be brought in. Baskets need to be ordered 3 days in advance and can include sandwiches, cheese and crackers, fruit and other goodies.
